Where Passion Meets Mochi!

We’re a French-Asian couple my husband is Laotian and I’m French brought together by our love of desserts and a shared admiration for Japan’s refined culinary artistry.

After spending over a decade living across Asia from Singapore and Malaysia to Thailand and, most memorably, Japan we fell under the spell of Japanese cuisine. Among all the culinary wonders we encountered, the art of mochi-making held a special place in our hearts. Watching mochi artisans pound rice flour into soft, chewy perfection became one of our most cherished memories.

Flavours like matcha, red bean, black sesame, and yuzu quickly became part of our everyday life. But when we moved to Dubai two years ago, we were surprised by how hard it was to find real, creamy, handcrafted daifuku mochi. Beyond the standard supermarket ice cream versions, authentic mochi felt like a mission impossible.

So we took a bold step: we began importing premium creamy mochi directly from Japan and adding our personal touch: a delicate, crunchy topping, inspired by Dubai’s vibrant food scene and its love for bold, textured flavours.

And just like that, Fleur de Mochi was born in May 2024, with a simple mission:

"To elevate traditional mochi into a refined dessert experience blending Japanese craftsmanship with local gourmet flair, right here in Dubai."
